HBSE Ventures brings together a team of investors that are committed to finding and partnering with teams to build the next category-defining companies in sports tech. The HBSE Ventures team includes experienced venture investors, with experience in the industry as operators and advisors.
HBSE is a loading global sports & entertainment company comprised of two synergistic platforms:
- The operating platform, which includes the Philadelphia 76ers, the New Jersey Devils, and the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
- An investment platform, consisting of a HBSE Ventures, a startup incubator (the Sixers Innovation Lab), and verticals for growth equity and real estate.
The fund and HBSE work closely with our portfolio companies to provide actionable insights into their product and the competitive landscape. We aim to accelerate a company’s path to scale by making relevant introductions to other teams and leagues, as well as to strategic capital partners.
Investment Team
The fund is managed by Brad Farkas and Chip Austin, who collectively have more than 40 years of experience as venture capital investors. Additionally, the managers have significant operating and technology expertise, having held C-level management and technical positions in a variety of early and mid-stage companies.
